Among the many patents which hare been put before the public by Mr J. E. Haynes, of Lain b ton Qu.iy. Wellington, one worthy of notice is that called the " Cyclone Spray," which should prove invaluable to farmers and. other* who are troubled with codlin moth, scaly blight, or other orchard pests. The invention, which consists of a small force-pump, is ma le entirely of brass, thereby preventing any , corrosive aciinn of the various acids con'ained in blight specifics. The pump is arranged with nozzle sprays, which cnn op removed at pleasure, and by a few strokes <>f the handle sends forth a perfect mist of fluid, and the harder the pump is work f a the finer the cloud of spray. The fluid is forced into the nozzle through oblique holes, which give it a rotary motion, thereby causing the volume of mist »o disperse. Mr Peter Thomson is the local agent.
