(FROM OUR O¥N CORRESPOjSDKNT."! A public meeting was held at the Apiti Post Office last week to consider the question of erecting a bridge over the Oroua river on the road leading to the Block. Mr Jeffries presided, and in a brief speech indicated the objects of the meeting. It was proposed by Mr Marsh, seconded by Mr Gould, That steps be taken at once to have the bridge erected if the Gorernlnent will subsidise pound for pound. — Carried. Eesolved, That Mr Bray, Engineer, be invited to give an estimate of the probable cost of a suitable bridge. It was stated that the bridge would have to be about 3$ chains long, with a ■width of 18 feet. A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the proceedings, which were marked throxighout with the utmost harmony and unanimity.
