Feilding Hunt Club
A special general meeting of the above held on Wednesday night at Mrs Hastie's Hotel. Present— Messrs Saxon <chairman), Lovejoy, Clissold, ■Charlton, Hurley, Halcombe, Roake, A. lElMngton, Oldham, McMillan, W. Williams and Mr Goodbehere (secretary). 'Proposed by Mr Lance, seconded by Dr CJharlton, That a point to point steeplechase be held by the Club. — Carried. ■ Proposed by Mr Roake, seconded by Mr JLovejoy, That the steeplechase be open only 4o horses owned and. ridden by membars <of the club, the horses to have been limited to the satisfaction of the Master or Deputy master at least 4 tunes during the present season.— Carried. Proposed by Mr Roake, seconded by Mr Lance, That the date of the steeple<Khase be fixed for Wednesday the 13th of August. — Garried. Resolved that a committee be appointed to select a course, consisting of Messrs Lloyd, McMillan and Perrett, and that the starting point be advertised on the day previous to the race. Resolved that all riders ride in racing costume, and that the minimum weight be 12 stone. * Resolved, That the race be for a sweepstake of £1, and fees be paid to the secretary by noon on Monday 11th August with the colors of the riders. Officials: Judge, P. Y. Lethbridge, Esq. ; starter, H. J. Lloyd, Esq. Resolved, That a general meeting be called for Wednesday 16th July to make arrangements re holding the annual steeplechase meeting. The meeting then closed.
