We have pleasure in reproducing the following letter which was published yesterday in the Wanganui Chronicle : — " Sir, — The letter you published the other day from Dr Monokton is one that, under all the circumstances, does credit to the writer, and, in common with many other settlers, I congratulate the doctor both on the manner in which he has borne himself during this quarrel sought by the hotelkeepers, and in the end of which he 'comes out as a gentleman, and one who has the courage of his opinions: — Yours, &0,, Beta. P.S. — Dr Monckton is unknown to me personally, even by sight. — Wanganui County, January 25, 1890."
