The Manchester Eoad Board will meet on Saturday next. To-morrow being a statutory holiday this office will be closed in the afternoon. Mr Sherwill has a five acre paddock to let. Mr John Pawson, the nightwatchman, has left a pair of gloves at this office, which the owner may have on application. Captain Edwin telegraphed to-day : — Weather forecast from 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day : Warnings for easterly gales hold good. at all places north of East Cape and Raglan. There are two things to which we wish to invite the special attention of the ladies of Wellington and suburbs; the first relates to the disposal of the balance of our unappropriated Christmas gifts, and the second to a select assortment of Rupenor underclothing, just received by the steamer Aorangi. at the Wholesale Family Drapery Warehouse, Te Aro House, Wellington. There is now on display at the Bed House a splendid assortment of Electro Plated Goods, suitable for presentation and New Year Gifts ; they consist of fancy Cruet, Biscuit Jars, Marmalade Jars, Butter, Sugar, &c. Inspection invited. These goods have been bought at a large discount for cash and will be sold cheap for cash.
