The Seymour-Walsh Opera Company.
The Hall was well filled last night by an appreciative audience. The Opera. " The Hohemian Girl" was remarkably - well performed, and considering that the • Company were entirely unaided by scenic eftects, the piece ran very smoothly. Miss Florence Seymour as ' '\Arline" . was charming, and her singing^of " I dreamt ' I dwelt in marble Halls" arid "Home; Sweet Home" was exquisite. Mr Walshe r as " Thadeus," was in grand form, and his - rendering of ".When .Other Lips andOther Hearts" and "The fair Land of Poland" earned well deserved marks of approbation at the hands of the audience. As Devil's Hoof, Mr England was effective' and amusing, and he represented his part to the life. Mr Erskin 'Scott, as Florestein, was very good. Miss Ethel Mackay, as the Gipsey Queen, made. the most other part and showed her powers as an actress to great advantage. Mr Frank Sceats, as Count Arnheim, was vei'3" good. All minor parts wei : e well filled,* the dresses were especially handsome, while the apparel of the Gipsy Queen was simply gorgeous. The orchestral music was supplied by "a violin and piano only; but was ample owing totho skill of the performers, ! The company will perform "La fille d& Madame Angot" to-morrow night, and we hope to see a crowded house. Playgoers in this district should remember that it is only by encouraging really good companies, like the one under notice, they can expect others of a similar high class to visit •Feilding.
