Sheep Returns
We have received the supplement to the New Zealand Gazette of the sth instant, giving a return of all sheep owners and number of sheep and lambs on- 31st May 1888 and 1889, from which we make the following extracts : — 1888 1889 Wanganui County ... 174,062 194,404 Bangitikei County ... 318,740 362,019 Oroua County ... 200,203 248,140 Manawatu County ... 133,496 157,023 If we may judge from the magnificent senson sheepfarmers have had for lambs since the above return was compiled, the numbers will for 1889-90 show 50 per cent, increase after deducting for local consumption and export.
