Replying to questions, Ministers said that the Government could not agree to bring in a bill for the making, of the railway between Eketahuna and Woodville on similar terms to the Otago Central Railway. — Government would consider the placing of a sum on the Estimates to subsidise publio libraries and reading rooms.
The debate on the second reading of the Representation Bill was adjourned. The second reading of the Law of Libel Bill was agreed to on the voices.
