Replying to questions, Ministers said that a provision would be made to remedy the inconvenience local bodies were exposed by reason of the delay in the audit of their accounts. — The Government had no intention of filling the vacancy on the Representation Commission. A motion was passed that the Government should introduce a Bill giving power to the people, by direct yote at the ballotbox, to prohibit the sale of liquors within the district in which they reside.
The Shop Hours Bill and the Gold Duty Abolition. Bill passed their second readings.
