(per united press association.) Gbeymocth, April 11. A sixty-ounce nugget has been found atMoonlight, one of the oldest diggings ou the West Coast. This is the second largest nugget ever found there. It was found about 40 feet above the bed of the creek. Wellington, April 12. Although the Ministers are not yet prepared to give the exact figures, it is known there will be a handsome surplus this year. The accounts are beiug kept open, so as to bring in every possible item which can be charged to the year's expenditure, but when all is allowed for these there will be enough to pay off the £50,000 of deficit it was proposed to wipe out this year and still leave a good margin. DirußDiN, April 12. David Cutler, a blaoksmith 40 years of age, living in South Dunedin, attempted suicide by shooting himself with a revolver. He had been drinking heavily lately.
