Mr Fisher's Resignation

(FBOM OTTO OWN OOBBESPOKDENT.) Wellington, April 12. The resignation of Mr Fisher has led to a great deal of controversy among the different newspapers of the city. The Post is combatting on Mr Fisher's side of the question, while the Press and Times have taken up the cudgels on behalf of the Government. Sir Harry Atkinson, contrary to his general custom, has also entered the arena, and in a letter to the Post last evening he denies most of the accusations of that paper, and adds that the true xacts of the case will be made public when the affair is settled. From a lighting point of view, Mr Fisher will be not only a great loss to the Government next session, but will be a very bitter opponent. There are few speakers who ■ know the power of the tongue so well as the late Minister for Education.
