WHITECHAPEL MURDERS.
Received November 15, 12.45 p- : m. London, November 14. The last viotim of the Whitechapel murders was a respectably connected woman, who had been in a gentleman's service in the West End for some time. She had descended lower and lower in the social scale until she became an out-cast and drifted into the slums of East End. The police have made what they considered an important arrest. The suspected person has the appearance of a welldressed " man about town" and is said to be identical with the man observed about the scenes of the previous murders immediately preceding the foul deeds. The police and other people continue to receive letters signed '* Jack the Ripper," admitting the murders and threatening more shortly. The R.M.S. Kaikoura arrived at Plymouth on Monday, all well. The Frozen meat is reported in good condition.
