The dispute in reference to the appointment of the Governor of Queensland has been referred to the consideration of the Cabinet. Mr Goschen denies that the Government have any intention of abandoning the wheel tax. The Opposition will move the adjournment of the House to morrow, for the purpose of eliciting the views of the - House on the policy of the Imperial Government, in consulting the colonies before finally appointing their Governors. Sir Saul Samuel has invited M. Axe, veterinary professor, to report on the disease which is deoi mating the rabbits. Mr Jeremiah D. Sheehan, M.P. for Kerry, was sentenoed to a month's imprisonment for abusing the police. The captain and twelve of the crew of the Ruger, sunk by a collision in the Channel, were drowned. In the French Ohamher of Deputies M. Goblet expressed an opinion that the present situation renders extra vigilanoe necessary on the part of France, though she was strong enough not to fear provocation.
