-•> 1 — (PER UNITED PRESB ASSOCIATION.) Tunbdin, November 14. At the annual meeting of the National Insurance Company the report, recommending a dividend of 10 per cent, was adopted. Wellington, November 14. Mr O. E. Barton, of Wellington, has been appointed a Native Land Court Judge. He will shortly proceed to a district north of Auckland. Auckland, November 14. Mr E. B. Walker has just returned from a nine days' prospecting trip in the King Country, and reports several finds of rich silver pre. The two*year-old filly Bustle, by Musket —Crinoline, recently purchased by Mr Chaafe for 300 guineas on behalf of an Australian sportsman, was shipped to Sydney to day. Fcur racing ponies were also sent. Napibb, November 14. An elderly seaman on board the Piako, while standing on a deckhouse to.day attending to a sail, was knocked over by the sail and fell on deck. Though the distance was only eight feet, he broke his neck and died almost immediately. A nautical inquiry into the fire on board the Langstone is to be held tomorrow, before the Collector of Customs. The damaged cargo, which includes probably over 1500 bales ef wool out of a total cargo of 3000 bales, is to be sold at auction on Saturday. This will be the largest sale of wool ever held in the n^i-v-_.
