Jean Louis, who was a prominent figure in the Tichborne ca«e, has been sentenced to fire years imprisonment on a charge of swindling. Three New Lambton miners charged with rioting, were to-day sentenced by the Court to various terms of imprison' ment. One was sent to gaol for eight months, whilst the others received five months' each. With the exception of the Kiama miners, who refused to accept the terms of the masters, ail the men out ou at- ike have signed the agreement. The carpenters' strike has also ended, and the men will receive 9s 6d a day till the end of the year, when the rate o* wages will be raised to 10s. Melbourne, November 14.
