Caulfield Stakes, of 500 bovb. — Mentor, 1 ; Cyclops, 2 ; Ensign, 3. The Great Foal Stakes, a sweepstake of 15 Boys. with 500 soya. added. — Montalto. 1 ; Lady Agnes, 2 ; Britomarte, 3. Caulfield Guineas, of 500 boys. — Volley, 1 ; Wycombe 2 ; Wyvis, 3. October 15. Betting on the Caulfield Cup has completely changed. Spade Guinea has been backed to win £15,000 down to 100 to 8 ; 10 to 1 ia now the best offer about her. Enfilade is well backed at 100 to 8.
Mentor is favorite for the Melbourne Cup at 100 to 11 (off); 100 to 10= wanted.
For the V.E.O. Derby, Melos and Carbine (coupled) are backed at eves money against the field.
