George Thomas and Co. report pro•duce prices as follows :— The demand io4- oats still continues firm, and prices :are on the same basis as last quotations. We do not anticipate lower values, as stocks are greatly rpduced .and realisations outside the Colony are extremely satisfactory to shippers. The scarcity of freights really •accsunts for the absence of increased prices ruling in the local markets. In consequence , of the contradictory nature of late telegrams from the H«me market, prices for flour are in<;liaed to slightly reduce, at any rate it may be accepted as a fact that no purchases are being made for for.yard .delivery at the present mill quotations. Prime whole fowls' wheat is hard to fiud ; any good samples offering are at almost milling rates. We quote oats, 2s 5d to 2s €d ; seed do, 2s 7d to 2s 8d; oatmeal, £10 15s to £li 10s; flour, £9 10s to £10 10s; fowls' wheat whole, 3s 2d to 3s 3d, broken do 2s 3d; wheatmeal, £10; potatoes, Oamaru £4 10s, other sorts £3 15s ; onions £7 for best, aod £3 for inferior samples; pollard, £4 ; bran, £3 ; beans, 3s 3d to 3s 6d ; maize, 3s 6d ; pearl barley, £19 j^feed barley, 2s 9d ; Cape barley, 3s Bd'; split peas, £15 ; cheese, 4d to sd; honey, 4d to sd ; eggs, 8d to B£d; fresh butter, 9d; hams and bacon, farmers' cure, 4d ; factory do, 7£d ; lard, sd; new potatoes, l£d per lb ; rhubarb, 5s per doz ; Sydney oranges, 4s 6d to 9s ; Island do, 9s €d to 10s 6d; econuts, 6s; peanuts, 2d; dates, 4su lb. Poultiy is scarce ; fowls are especially inouired for.
