TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. g IBi J must say that- it surprised me considerably to see Mr Beileyjs correction in the Stab, as I had not heard anything of the acknowledge ment alleged to have been sent. At first I supposed that probably 2 the courtesy of a letter to at least one of the petitioners of our; part 1 of the ward had been extended, batata I was woefully disappointed, as,. upon enquiring of several of tne ratepayers of our district, I found that they knew nothing of the matter referred to.— l
