WELLINGTON MARKETS.

Wkllinoton, July 27. George Thomas and Co. report produce prices as follows: — The market values for oats show considerable improvement, and, judging by the quantity being forwarded to Australia, there is every prospect if this outlet is sufficiently permanent, of prices still further increasing; we quote good short milling samples 2s 3d to 2s 4d, fair to first-class feed 2s to 2s Id seed Tartarians (black and white) 2s 4d to 2s 6d per bushel. A large export inquiry exists for potatoes, and quotations at Southern ports have reached 60s per ton ; we hardly think this price will stand for any lengthened period. Oatmeal, in sympathy with oats, has advanced to £10 per ton. Other than the above there are no alterations; we therefore quote — Flour (sacks), £8 to £9 ; bran, £3 10s ; pollard, £4 ; fowls' wheat, 2s 6d to 2s 9d ; sheaf chaff, £3 15s ; straw ditto, £2 15s ; maize, 3s 8d to 3s 9d ; pearl barley, 20s ; feed barley, 2s 8d ; split peas, 17s; field peas, 3s per bushel; beans, 3s ; onions, £4. Seed potatoes as follows : — Kidneys, £5 ; flukes £5 ; Breeze's prolifics, £4 10s ; magnum bonum, £5 per ton. Rye grass seed, 3s 3d to 3s 6d ; Italian rye, 3s ; cocksfoot, 3sd per lb ; bacon and hams (factory cure), 7d to 7£d ; cheese best, 4£d, fresh butter, Is 2d; salt do 8d to lOd for prime ; 2d to 4d for pastry descriptions ; eggs have reduced to Is per doz. The fruit market has been singularly devoid of supplies, and this fact may have the welcome effect of increasing prices and demand for next week's arrivals. Poultry has been quitted at fairly good prices ; purebred Brahmas, at our usual weekly 6ale on Friday, realised 5s each, Spanish and Minorcas 3s 6d per pair ; common fowls 2s 6d to 2s 9d, ducks 4s 6d, turkeys 7s, geese 5s 6d per pair.
