POLL FOR LOAN FOR NO. 5 WARD.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR.^ Sir, — Will you allow me to bring under the notice of some of your subscribers who were not present at the meeting at Taonui on Monday night, a statement made by the Chairman of the Epad Board to the effect, that if the loan be carried and all the roads in the ward and the Aorangi bridge be finished, the present rates will not be increased by more than one f arth* ing in the £, if by that much. I can't think that any ratepayer being aware -oi this would hesitate to roll up and vote for the roads and bridge.— l am, <&©., Ratepayer.
