DEATH OF THE GERMAN EMPEROR
By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright 1 PEE UNITED PBEBS ASSOCIATION. I Beceired June 16, 10.45 p.m. Berlin, June 15. Daring the night the Emperor's slumbers were disturbed with fits. At 3 a.m, the weakness increased alarmingly, though the Emperor was still conscious almost to the last. At 10 a.m, there were no signs of suffering, and at 11 a.m. His Majesty passed quietly away in the presence of I Beblik, June 14. The alarming symptoms of the Emperor's illness, reported yesterday, [are now abating, and His Imperial Majesty is now able to take his food in a natural manner. He is a good deal stronger, and constantly discharges his State duties.
The physicians in attendance on the Emperor are of opinion that an abscess is forming between the trachea and the gullet, and that if it bursts upward his Imperial Majesty may recover from the present attack. If, however, the abscess should burst inward they think suffocation would be the inevitable result.
The Emperor Frederick is suffering from lockjaw, and is sinking fast. All his family are present at Potsdam.
