Feilding Fire Brigade

A meeting of the Feilding Fixe Brigade was held at Captain Bray's office on Thursday evening. The recently obtained firebell was ordered to be rung as an official and final trial. Afterwards it was unanimously agreed that the bell was inefficient, and it was resolved to return it at the cost of the sender, as it was not up to the weight it was represented to be. A telegram giving prices of bells was read from Messrs Luke & Son, of Wellington, and it was decided to order one from them of 300 lbs weight. The Captain submitted a plan of the belltower to be erected on Manchester Square, a<id this was approved of, coupled with thank? to Captain Bray for his kindness in preparing the same. It was arranged for the Committee appointed to draw up rules and regulations for the Brigade, to meet the following evening, and thia concluded the business.
