Archbishop Redwood has completed his arrangements to leave town on Saturday, at 4 o'clock, for Auckland, to catch the out-going boat to San Francisco on his trip to Rome. The Archbishop will be accompanied by the Rev. Father Patterson, of Palmerston North, who will act as his private chaplin.

Nikau Bewa, of Tairua, dating on May 7, writes as follows to the editor of the Koriinako : — " Gold has "been found at Tapuaetahi, Poutapa, Tairua. The names of the persons who first found it are Eingi Ruihi, Nikau Bewa, and Taipeti. The persons who have shares in the same are:— (l) Heremia Topia, (2) Ngatoe Mate, (3) Hepa Mare, (4) Rewe Mare, (5) Wani, (6) Erueti Waha, (7) Mare, (8) Purangataua. These are the persons who came soon after the find. Gold is plentiful."
