[per united press association."} Wellington. Febuary 16. The first day's racing of the Wairarapa Jockey Club's annual meeting commenced at' Greytown North to-day. The weather was fine, and the attendance fair. Hurdles, 1^ miles — Freebooter. !.■; Kangaroo, 2 ; Johnny, 3. Won easily. Time, 3min. 3seo. Dividend, £2 15s. Wairarapa Cup, 1} miles — little Scrub, 1 ; Smooth, 2 ; Torohunga, 3. The Shah, Cupid, and Minnie Palmer also started. After a quarter of a mile was covered, Little Scrub went to the front, and won easily by three lengths. Time, 2min. 42sec. Dividend, £3 Us. February 17. Besults of second day's races : — Hurdles.— Freebooter, 1 ; Kangaroo, 2. Johnny ran inside a post. Freebooter won easily. Dividend, £2 4s. Telegraph Stakes. — Forester, 1 ; Cupid, 2. No others started. W.J.C. Handicap.— Smooth, 1 ; The Shah, 2; Revoke, 3. Torohunga and Satanella also ran. Dividend, £2 7s. The Grand Stand Handicap was won by Lancer, Revoke 2, Cupid 3. DuKEDisr, February 17. The following are the latest quotations on the Dunedin Cup:— 2 to 1 against Gipsy King, 3 to 1 Quibble, 7 to 1 Springston, 8 to 1 Artillery and Snapshot, 10 to 1 Ruby, Hermitage, Torrent and Tetford, 16 to 1 St. Clair and First Lord, and from 100 to 5 to 100 to 1 the others.
