We clip the following from the Melbourne Age of the 14th iiiat. : — " A private letter recently received from Montreal, Canada, Imngs the iU*a!h of J*ajjt(jr ChiiU(|uy, formerly a Roman Ciitholie priest, who it may be remembered, gave a course of lectures in these colonies and other parts of the world against the Roman CathoI lie faith similar to those now delivered by Miss Edith Gorman, * the escaped nun.' Pastor Chiuiquy seceded from the church on account of a monetary dispute with his archbishop. Being a. popular preacher aud temperance lecturer when in the church, he was presented with large sums of money during his travels in Canada, and became wealthy. He refused to give up his riches to the church, hence his secession. On his departure from these colonies, he returned to Montreal, and through the influence of his family he was induced to reconsider his position. After a time he decided to return to the church, and was re-admitted after : making a public recantation." Continuattonofreoding matter on Wipage
