Christmas Shows

The shops of the several butchers were decorated for Christmas Cheer on Thursday night, and their several excellencies drew favorable comments from the number of persons who were out making purchases for Christmas. Mr Rutherford Had a fine show of beef, from heifers fattened on Mr Downes' estate, Kimbolton Road. The mutton was grown by Mr F Y. Lethbridge, and veal by Mr Lane of Makino. Pork and sucking pigs were home fed. Mr Gicuard. In this shop was exhibited some first class beef reared by Mr Fraser, of Kimbolton Road. Mutton and lamb grown by Mr Simpson of Taonui. Veal from the farm of Mr Holden, Makino. Pork and suckers home fed. Mr Linton. The beef in this case was grown by Mr Bull at Aorangi. The mutton was from Mr Sinclair, of Kiwitea.
