Meeting at Taonui
BRIDGE AT AORANGI.
A meeting, of ratepayers was held at Taonui last night, Mr W. I* Bailey, J.P., in the chair.. Upwards of fifty settlers were present and the following resolutions werepassed unanimously?— 1. That this meeting confirm the action already taken in the matter of the bridge by the vanous deputations;!'
2. That tbe following committee be appointed to work up the matter and carry out the proposed scheme for the> erection of a bridge and formation of a road :— Messrs W. L. Bailey, Aid-' rich, Derby, Jackson, Walter Bailey,, C. Bull and Revington Jones. 3. That the members of this committee pledge themselves in the even* of the bridge being erected, to do everything in thoir power to push on the formation of the road from Bunnythorpe to Aorangi. 4. That the settlers present beingf thoroughly representative of the "dis- * trict pledge themselves to unanimously : support and assist the committee by . every means in their power to further the proposed scheme. ■'*'•** A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the proceedings.
