_4 THE MYSTERY CLEARED UP. "' A late issued the Sydney Mail contains the following sensational account of the Beach v. Gaudaur race. We for the honor of Australian sport that the report is not true. The case however, looks very suspicious :— Considerable stir was occasioned in Sydney on Wednesday evening, on the receipt of the following explanatory telegram by Mr George Hill from Mr Deeble. At a given rignal Beach went away and won. Time fast, but tide wind favorable. Beach has received money presents amounting to nearly £3000 from Australians here, who won heavily.
