Feilding Special Settlement

A general meeting of members of tho Feilding Special Settlement Association was held at Fielding on Saturdii3 r evening. There were about tvtmty members present and Mr IWles was voted to the chair. On the motion of Mr D. McKenzie, a vote of thanks was accorded to the outgoing committee. The following members were than appointed a committee for the ensuing y,. nr: — Messrs Fowles, Gregory, Brandt, Holden, J. 0. Thompson, Nix, Richardson, McKenzie, Bilderbeck, Gould, and Reid. Mr E. Goodbehere was reappointed secretary and treasurer. Proposed by Mr Reid seconded by Mr J. C. Thompson, " That a vote of thanks be accorded to Mr Mountford .for the very satisfactory manner in vbich he has carried out the surve}' of the block." — Carried. Several members expressed their opinion that he had carried out his work in a very thorough maaner, and deserved great credit. Resolved, " That the price of township sections remain as at present fixed for one month, and remain open for selection during: that time to members and others." Resolved. "That the secretary receive £5 for his services to the present <laio, and £15 for the ensuing year." Resolved, "That a call of 5s per nieiiii-or '«« made to meet current ex--liei!*«'.' Resolved, "That this meeting is of opinioi 1 that it is advisable that the clause referring to continual residence l>e modified, and that every endouvour be use r l by the Association to bring- that result about."
