The Timaru Poisoning Case
[P & UNITED PBKSS ASSOCIATION.} TIMAKU, Septcinliw 4. At the Court this morning, tb* exaoiination-in-chief of nurse Elliso* was continued. She told how, on several occasious, she had given the excreta passed by Mrs Hall to Dr Mclntyre, at his request. The ice water complained of by Mrs Hall was put in a cup on Sunday. Mrs Hall, in the presence of Mr Hall, said that the latter had put ice iv the cup. Mr White said he had no further evidence at present. He asked for a remand of eight days, to enable Mrs Hall to attend. Mr Joynt suggested that the evidence be taken by, a solicitor chosen by both sides. Mr White said he would be glad to know what Mr Joynt wished, as the Crown was anxious to spare Mrs Halt, but could not see to accede to this request. She was a valuable witness, and her evidence must bo placed on the depositions in her private house,, but the court said they saw no reason to depart from the ordinary course, and remanded the case till Saturday next, with an understanding that a further remand till Monday or Tuesday would be granted.
