The Board of Reviewers in re property tax sat to-day. A report will appear in our next issue. A meeting of the Manchester Highway Board was held this afternoon. A report will appear in our next issue. Says the Bruce Herald : — " The Auckland Freethinkers recently celebrated the birthday of Voltaire by a graud display of fireworks. The spectacle was very magnificent and could only be exceeded by the pyrotechnical show of which the great Atliiest is now a constant witness." A reception tea was given to the Rev. H. Clark at Halcombe on Wednesday last, which was largly attended. A similar welcome will be accorded to Mr Clark in the Primitive Methodist Church, Feilding, on Wednesday evening next at 6 o'clock.
