(tbbtmouth, March 31. Dr McCarthy, while riding on horseback at Tayloryille yesterday, was thrown through his horse shying. His foot caught in the stirrup, and he was dragged about ten yards. He was bleeding very freely when picked up, and his skull is fractured. He now lies at the hospital in a precarious condition. Chbistchubch, March 31. A case of savage assault by a woman came before the Police Court to-day. Mrs Fitzsimmons was accused of violently assaulting her husband, Jas. Fitzsimmons. It is alleged that last night she struck her husband, and then attempted to mutilate him. He was found lying on his bed covered with blood, and this morning he was removed to the hospital. The woman was remanded till to-morrow to obtain medical evidence as to the injuries, i The man is expected to recover.
