Mr Boas. j Appointments Committee. — The i following business was transacted in j committee : — Palmerston North — The ! conjtmittee approved of Miss Irving for Terrace End; application con- | firmed. ■ ; I Bunnythorpe. — Letter 'from J. H. Stewart, resigning position and giving reasons. — Resolved, That Messrs ! Fry and Sanson be appointed a com- ; rinittee to visit Bnnnythorpe and inquire into the cause of Mr Stewart's ; resignation. < TJpper Taonui.— Resolved, That Miss Prendergast be appointed pupil teacher if the quarterly returns warranted it. Finance. — The clerk reported that the general account had a credit balance of £2250 3s 7d ; the building account was overdrawn £2890 18s Bd, while the liabilities and contractors' deposits brought the total liabilities to £3756 17b lOd. The sum of £3259 3s 3d would be hand shortly as buildgrant for 1886. New Members.— The voting for three members resulted as follows :— Boss 48, Fry 39, Carson 37/ Bomber 14, Tnynne 14, Audrey 7, and Wicksteed 4. The first three wore declared duly elected. Building Advance. — The Education Department wrote relative to the - request for an advance of £1000 for school buildings, and stating that the Minister was unable to entertain the application. From Kimbolton road School Committee, asking that the board would establish two half-time schools, one at Kimbolton road, and the other at Cheltenham. The Inspector stated that Cheltenham was about 8£ miles from Feilding, and the Kimbolton road school about A\ miles further on* — It was moved and seconded that the request be acceeded to.— Carried. From Awahuri asking that the board would grant £10 for the erection of shed to keep the saddles, &c., of the boys in, and also to keep the weod in. — Pound for pound granted. From Feilding asking if the board would purchase a section adjoining the school ground. A letter was enclosed from Mr Goodbehere stating the price to be £70.— Besolved, That the board do not increase its previous offer of £50 for the section. From Taonui asking that a fence should be erected round the school ground. The letter stated that the committee would give £5. — Besolved to give £5 toward the erection of a fence. The meeting then adjourned.
