The Census
TO THE EDITOR »F THE STAR. Bra, — The census paper lately issued contains a direction as to filling up, of a most misleading kind, and which is proving a source of perplexity to a great many. It is to the following effect — " Presbyterians are especially directed to state to what particular Presbyterian Church they belong." Now, there is but one Presbyterian Church in New Zealand. The ohurch in Otago is the same church, though for convenience they have a separate government. It may be of service, then, if you will give the publicity of your paper to the statement that in filling up the papers Presbyterians should just write under religious denominations —Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, which is the official designation of our church. The insertion of the word Cathoho in the same direction is a ludicrous blunder, as it implies that the Roman Catholic Church officially acknowledges that it is broken up into a number of sects, which all the world except our administrators know is not the case.
