Goods in i 1884 were 2839 tons; in 1885* 3951 tons. The total for the whole colony was £79,968 5s 6d, and in 1884, r £74,698 4s 2d. This is the best possible guide to show the real state of trade in the colony. When we see these returns so steadily increasing 1 month by month, it is safe to assume , that the depression in commerce and trade is passing away in the same ratio.
