[SEVTEBS TELKGBAMB.J Pabis, October 29. An attempt, fortunately unsuccessful, was made to shoot M . ae Freycinet today. A man fired a shot at him, but was arrested by tbe bystanders and placed in custody of the police before he could fire anether shot. The prisoner preserves a reticent attitude, and will not divulge the motive tbat actuated him. Received October 31, 1.45 a.m. Pabis, October 30. Farther enquiries have revealed the fact that the would-be assassin of M. Frejcinet is a Corsican. He admits having premeditated . the attempt, but has not slated his reason far the crime.
