Revolt in Roumelia
PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. . London, October 12. Germany proposes that the notifica* tion made by Servia and Greece,: that they intended to demand an indemnity if the union of Roumelia and Bulgaria was acquiesced in, should be rejected, and the union recognised by the Powers. England, Russia, and Austria approve of the suggestion. St. Petersburg. October 13. The semi-official Journal de St. Petersburg, in an article on the Eoumelian difficulty, expresses the opinion that owing to the claims advanced by the minor States it will be found advisable to uphold the integrity of the treaty of Berlin. Received October 15, 1.40 a.m. London, October 14. Matters continue to be unsettled in European Turkey, and in consequence Greece and Servia are proceeding with their warlike preparations.
