Wanganui Borough Council Gases

Waxsan-i, September 4.

Three cases were brought on this morning agsinst borough conneillors for breaches of the Municipal Corporations Act. Mr G. Carson, ef tbe Wanganui Chronicle, was fined £100 for voting while accounts due to him for advertising remained unpaid. Ten other eases against Mr Carson were adjonrned for a week. Tho case against J. Murray, of Murray's foundery was adjourned for a week. In the case against J. Laird the defendant had supplied trees for the public domain. This case also was adjourned. The amounts sued, for are:'— Mr Carson, £ ,060 i Mr Murray, £800; Mr Laird, £150; MrMansen,£3so; Mrßell,£l6o. The last two mentioned have confessed judgment.
