The Pacific Mail Company's B.M.S. City of Sydney, with the. homeward Frisco mail, left this afternoon for Auckland.

The Union Company's s.s. Wakatipa sailed for Wellington this afternoon.

The drought has at length broken up, and rain has fallen in many parts of the colony. More is required, however, and next season's wheat crop is expected to be only a light one, owing to the lateness of the rainfall.
