A scratch match between members of the local football club was played on the Oval las;t Saturday. Only 12 out of the 30 .turned up, at the same time there Was s6n|e good play shown by Messrs Thomson* Belfit, Halcombe (2), and Gurney; The side captained by Mr Thomson were victorious, obtaining 2. goals to their opponents 1. The tries ior Mr Thomson's side were secured by Mr. 0. HalcomVe and the worthy captain, which were converted into goaj^s by the hitter. Mr Belfit securea^he. try for the defeated team, which r Mf Gurney converted into a goal; We' take this opportunity of informing the members that if they do not turn up to practice they cannot expect to be victorious in their matches. We hope therefore to see a better muster next Saturday when there will be, another practice.
