In consequence of a disagreement over the floating of the last loan, the Government's account has been withdrawn from the bank of New South Wales, and distributed among the nine associated banks. Melbourne, January 7. The Victorian Association hare asked the Australian team who visited England last season to explain their refusal to play an English eleven. A case of small-pox has occurred at Castlemaine, 77 miles north- frest of this city. Received January 8, 1.40 a.m. Adelaide, January 7. Arrived, this morning, the Orient steamship Cuzco, with inward Brindiai tftails, dated, London, December sth. Melbourne, January 7. Sailed, this afternoon, the Rotomahana, for the Bluff. A public meeting was held at the Town Hall on Pacific annexation question, and was attended by fully 4000 persons. A meeting was also held last evening, at Bullarat, to consider the samo question.
