Sib, — I do not know Mr Hammond's capacity as a bridge builder, but I think it my duty to say, as I consider he h*s been unjustly sat upon, that I was a member of tho Taratahi-Carterton Highmay Board for eight years, and during that time Mr Hammond had. several contracts under the Board, and carried them out to their satisfaction.— l am, &s.
