FROM OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT. Bulls, August 20. j A well-attended meeting of those interostod in tlie formation of a Produce and Poultry Show took place in the Bulls Town Hall on Tuesday afternoon. Mr ] James Bull was voted to the chair, and after explaining the object of the meeting called upon Mr Retenieyer to propose the first resolution. Mr Ketemeyer fully explained the usefulness of an association of this kind and proposed that the association bo formed nnd named the Manawatu and Rangitikei Produce and Poultry | Association. Mr John 3tevens seconded ! the proposition, ani spoke at some length on the advantage to be derived and also explained the working of s similar institution and exhibition which was held in Wellington last year. The member's fee was fixed at five shillings. It was re- j solved that the boundaries of the district should be from the Manawatu River to the Whangaehu River. The first show is to be held at Bulls, and subsequent shows at any township within the boundaries that offers the greatest facilities and inducements for such shows. A large and influential committee was formed to carry out the object* of the association. The sum of fourteen guineas was promised towards special prizes. Mr Ketemeyer was elected President and Mr James Bull Vice- President. The following gentlemen were appointed a General Committee : — Messrs A. C. Burcham. G. Moore, J. Paulin, J. Stevens, H. Abbot, L. C. Richards, G. J. Scott, R. M. Begg, T. Munro, T. McKenzie, A. Bailey. J- «:. Hogg, Robert Wilson, Mansell, W. Fergusson, G. Farmer, J. Kilgour, J. Stevenson, D. Robb, C. G. Esana, J. R. Harper, and Colonel Gorton r-five to form a quorum.
