August 18. A large meeting meeting took place at Punches Hotel to-day* /when th« stakes on the late sculling match were paid over. Hanlon admitted, that be had wilfully ibuled Beach because he believed that the. latter had crossed over into I»ib water. Hanlon expressed a desire to row another match with Beach within three months, bufc Beach positively refuses to meet the ex-cham-pion within six months. Clifford also offered to row Hanlon, but the latter refused to take up the challenge. The captain of the steamer Tomki, who was present, stated he. was compelled to run close upon Hanlon's boat in order to avoid running aground. '
