Attempted Suicide by a Barmaid
«, . (PEB UNITED PEESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, This Day. A barmaid at a Queen-street hotel attempted suicide last night by taking poison. She had been upstairs, and on coming down found her inamorato fooling with another girl. High words, it is said, ensued, and it ended by her subsequently taking poiscn, or what is believed to be poison. Emetics of mustard and warm water were subsequently administered to the love stricken maiden.
