Messrs Can% Neal, McKenzie, Owes, and Win. stone, . members of the Committee, called at the British one moraine, and the landlord being upstairs, Mr« Hum* phries showed them into the Parlor. V Here they were interviewed by Mr Humphries, to whom they stated that •• Licensing Committee of the district they had called to make an inspection of- the :- house. Mr Humphries replied that on : principle he could not allow them to do bo, the inspection provided for by the court having already been made by the police. No provision was made by lair for an inspection by the Committee, and hence hjs refusal. The Committee did not persist in their intention, but retired. —Star.
