The Pengnin, from i«'iji, arrived late last night, and brings intelligence of the wreck of the Coolie ship Sjrra. friiig stranded at Masalai Point. She left Cnloutta on 13th March with 180 Coolie immigrants for Fiji, sighted Kadara, and then nvido course for Sura A» night closed in, the wind and «ea rose. About 880 o'clock breakers were seen and they ti ied to put her about, but in stays she sfru.k on a reef, smashing all the boats but one, in which four Europeans and three Lascars lvaclu-d Levuka for assistance. The Penguin passed the Syra ; she was then a wreck. No one was seen, and it is not known whether • the passengers and crew are rescued.
