A Narrow Escape from Drowning
(PEB UNITES PBEB3 ASSOCIATION.) Timabu, This Day. A Tery narrow escape from drowning occured in the roadstead to-day. About noon four men of the barque Auriga, lying in the roadstead, put off from the breakwater. After going some distance they attempted to hoist the sail, but the halyards gave way. One of the men then climbed the mast, and the boat capsiaed, rolling over and over several times. Eventually all four were picked up by a boat from the schooner Spray ; two of the seamen being in a very exhausted condition. All are now doing well.
