Sale Yards at Cheltenham

What Kill undoubtedly prore a great boon to the Kiwitea settlers has been set on foot bj VI r Sfcewnrt, of the Cheltenham Hotel. He has just erected near the hotel rerj commodious and substantial cattle and sheep yards, capable of hold* ing sereral hundred cattle and a large number of sheep, and it is intended to hold periodical sales of stock. Settlers at a distant part of the Kiwitea district will thus bewared the great inconvenience they hare hitherto suffered in the matter of a market for their stock. As it was they had either to keep their stock till someone happened to require them and came to take them away, or were under the necessity of bringing them on to Feilding, and selling them for just what they wou d fetch, rather than being at the tiouble, expense, and loss of time in taking the animals back home. A great deal of this will now be obviated, and the yards cannot but be a great ad rantage to the farmer* of Cheltenham and the Kiwitea generally. At present it is proposed to hold the sales quarterly, but should circumstances warrant it, they will probably be held once a month. The first sale, of which due notice will be giren, will be held about the middle of the present month by Messrs Stevens and Gorton, the well-known auctioneers, under whose management the salts can* not but prove successful.
