We remind mem ben of the Manchester Eifle Corps that there will be Government Inspection Parade at the Town Hall at 7 o'clock this evening. The Feilding Brass Band intend to perform on the Square on the second Saturday evening of each month, weather permitting. The programme for next Saturday will be found elsewhere. The grand amateur concert which will be held in the Town Hall during the current month will probably be one of the best ever held in Feilding. Further particulars will appear in an early issue. The settlers in the Harbor Block are at last about to bestir themselves as a body with reference to the matter of reads in thai part of the district. A public meeting is about to be held at Mr Pol* lock's Buckingham Palace, of which particulars will be advertised on Saturday. Eiwitea is a very successful agricultural and pastoral district, if we may judge from the splendid crops and magnificent stock which may now be seen there on every hand. Apparently there is not 1 better land in any part of the island, and given a good market for its produce, the district should be one of the most thriving in the colony. We have received from the publishers in Auckland, the first issue of a new venture in journalism entitled "The Little Pink 'Un," which, in accordance with its name, is printed on pink paper. It is full of amusing matter and useful sporting information. In the programme, the editor states that it will be chiefly devoted to Sport, the Drama, and Social Topics of general interest, at the same time avoiding personal scurrility and tasteless vulgarity. If this line is followed the paper will have a fair field.
